How this rate is set
The interbank figure is the State Bank of Pakistan's mark-to-market rate. For the US dollar it is the weighted average of the closing interbank rates reported by brokerage houses; the other currencies are worked out from it through cross rates. It is a reference rate for banks, not the rate you get over the counter.
The open-market rates are the closing buying and selling rates of the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP), which the SBP publishes for information only. On 22 October 2026 exchange companies were buying a dollar for Rs 277.52 and selling it for Rs 278.65, a spread of Rs 1.13. The interbank dollar is down Rs 0.02 from Rs 276.87 on 20 October 2026.
Use the currency converter to change rupees to and from dollars, riyals, dirhams, pounds and euros. It starts from the SBP interbank rate, and you can enter the rate you are actually offered. Sending money from abroad? See the Roshan Digital Account guide.
