In short

Ex-WAPDA company bills are on PITC’s official portal: enter your 14-digit reference number for a duplicate. K-Electric bills use the 13-digit account number.

If your bill hasn’t arrived, you’ve lost it, or you want to see the amount before the due date, you can view and print it online. Bills for the eleven ex-WAPDA companies (LESCO, IESCO, FESCO and the rest) are on bill.pitc.com.pk, run by the government-owned Power Information Technology Company (PITC). K-Electric bills are on its own website and app. This is correct as of October 2026.

How to check an ex-WAPDA bill

  1. Open bill.pitc.com.pk and pick your company, or use the direct link in the table above.
  2. Keep “Reference No” selected and type the 14 digits from your bill with no spaces or dashes. In the box next to it, choose U or R to match your bill. Or select “Customer ID” and search by that instead.
  3. Enter the captcha code and press “Search”.
  4. Your bill opens on screen. Print it from the browser or save it as a PDF.

Understanding the reference number

The reference number has 14 digits, printed on the bill in three groups, as in PITC’s sample “01 14111 xxxxxxx”. LESCO’s website asks for them in separate boxes: the batch number (2 digits), the sub-division code (5 digits) and the rest of the reference. The final U or R shows whether the connection is urban or rural. Two meters in the same house have different reference numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the reference number on my bill?

It is printed near the top of every ex-WAPDA bill as 14 digits in three groups, for example “01 14111 1234567”, followed by U (urban) or R (rural). Type the 14 digits without spaces on the PITC site and pick U or R to match your bill. You can also search by the Customer ID printed on the bill.

Is a printed online bill accepted at the bank?

PITC describes its web bill as a print-ready duplicate for payment at any branch. You don’t need a printout to pay through a banking app, JazzCash or Easypaisa: they only need the reference number.

I have lost my bill and don’t know the reference number. What now?

Look at an old bill, a payment receipt or a bank app’s saved billers, where the reference number is usually stored. Otherwise visit your local sub-division office with your CNIC and address; they can find it from their records.

Can I get my bill by SMS or email?

LESCO offers free SMS and email alerts about billing and supply: register on its SMS service page with your Customer ID and mobile number. K-Electric sends the bill by email if you subscribe to e-billing on ke.com.pk. We could not confirm an SMS bill service for the other companies from their official websites.

My bill looks too high. What should I check?

First check the units: subtract the previous reading from the present one. Then compare the bill with our electricity bill checker, which works out the expected amount from the NEPRA tariff and tells you what to do if it is wrong.
