Selling on Daraz in 2026: fees, tax and how to price for profit
Work it out with the Daraz profit calculator →
Daraz deducts three things from every order: a commission that depends on the category (2% to 20%), a 2.25% payment fee, and an item handling fee of Rs 10 to Rs 60. On top of that, income tax is withheld on the gross amount: 1% when the buyer pays online and 2% on cash on delivery. To price for profit, build all of these into your price, along with the costs Daraz does not publish.
How Daraz fees work
Commission
Commission is a percentage of the selling price and depends on the category. These are the rates Daraz publishes on Daraz University, effective 1 June 2026. Daraz says they are exclusive of VAT and that rates can be set down to category level 6, so check your exact sub-category in Seller Center.

Payment fee
Daraz’s Payment Policy charges 2.25% of every order’s value as a payment fee, whether the buyer pays in advance or cash on delivery.
Item handling fee
This is a fixed amount per item that depends on the item’s price. Digital goods, top-ups, charity and donations, and service products are excluded.
| Item price (Rs) | Handling fee |
|---|---|
| 0 – 500 | Rs 10 |
| 501 – 1,000 | Rs 15 |
| 1,001 – 2,000 | Rs 20 |
| 2,001+ | Rs 60 |
On cheap items this fee is a big share of the price: Rs 10 on a Rs 400 item is 2.5%. If you use Daraz’s pickup service (in the cities where it runs), it costs another Rs 30 per package under 8 kg, or Rs 120 for 8 kg and above.
Income tax on Daraz sales
The Finance Act 2025 created a separate regime for online sales. Under section 153(2A), tax is taken from the gross amount when money is passed on to the seller: 1% by the payment intermediary when the buyer pays by card, wallet or bank, and 2% by the courier on cash on delivery. FBR says the lower digital rate is there to encourage cashless payment.
- For most sellers this is a final tax on that income under section 6A, so no slab tax is charged on it separately.
- Since the Finance Act 2026, the tax is adjustable for a seller whose turnover in a tax year is above Rs 200 million. Sellers with turnover up to Rs 200 million can choose the normal tax regime when filing the return for tax year 2027 onwards.
- Every e-commerce seller must be registered for income tax, and marketplaces and couriers may not serve unregistered sellers.
If you also sell IT or freelance services to clients abroad, that income is taxed differently; see the freelancer tax calculator. If you sell on Daraz alongside a job, check the tax on your salary with the salary tax calculator.
A worked example
Say you sell a Rs 2,500 suit in women’s fashion (Women, 18.5% commission). It costs you Rs 1,500 plus Rs 50 for packaging.
| Item | Cash on delivery | Paid online |
|---|---|---|
| Selling price | Rs 2,500 | Rs 2,500 |
| Commission (18.5%) | Rs 463 | Rs 463 |
| Payment fee (2.25%) | Rs 56 | Rs 56 |
| Handling fee | Rs 60 | Rs 60 |
| Income tax | Rs 50 (2%) | Rs 25 (1%) |
| Daraz pays you | Rs 1,871 | Rs 1,896 |
| Cost + packaging | Rs 1,550 | Rs 1,550 |
| Profit | Rs 321 (12.9%) | Rs 346 (13.9%) |
So about Rs 629 of a Rs 2,500 sale goes in Daraz fees and tax. An order paid online keeps Rs 25 more because the tax is lower. This is before shipping, sales tax on fees, returns and ads.
The minimum price for a target margin
Commission, payment fee and tax are all percentages of the price, so they grow when you raise the price. That is why the minimum price is found by dividing, not adding:
Price = (cost + packaging + shipping + handling fee) ÷ (1 − commission% − payment fee% − tax% − target margin%)
In the example, for a 20% margin on cash on delivery: (1,500 + 50 + 60) ÷ (1 − 18.5% − 2.25% − 2% − 20%) = about Rs 2,813. Just to break even (zero profit) you need at least Rs 2,085. Because the handling fee changes with the price band, the Daraz profit calculator checks each band and gives the exact figure.
Costs Daraz does not publish
- Shipping or free-shipping programme fees: we found no official figure for shipping charged to sellers on Daraz University’s public pages. Check your Seller Center statement.
- Sales tax on Daraz’s fees: the commission PDF says rates are exclusive of VAT, but the rate charged is not published. Check your statement for this too.
- Penalties, returns and campaigns: penalties for cancelling or late dispatch, returned stock, vouchers you fund and ads all come out of your profit.
Estimate these and enter them in the calculator’s “shipping or other fees” and “sales tax on Daraz fees” boxes.
How to start selling on Daraz
According to Daraz’s “Sell on Daraz” page:
- Register on Daraz Seller Center (sellercenter.daraz.pk). There is no listing fee.
- Log in to Seller Center, open “Products” and choose “Add Products” to list your items.
- Ship orders as they come in; Daraz pays you after deducting its fees and the tax.
Daraz’s public pages do not give an official list of documents, so provide what the sign-up form asks for. By law you must be registered for income tax (have an NTN). See how to become a filer.
Common mistakes
- Pricing on the commission alone and forgetting the payment fee, handling fee and tax.
- Adding a margin to cost (for example cost + 20%) when the fees are charged on the selling price. That is why the formula above divides.
- Assuming every sub-category has the same rate as its parent category.
- Treating Daraz’s rates as fixed. Daraz changes them from time to time; these were checked on 2026-10-13.
Frequently asked questions
How much commission does Daraz charge in 2026?
It depends on the category. Under the rates effective 1 June 2026, laptops are charged 2%, mobiles 3%, televisions 4%, mobile accessories 12.9%, makeup 14.44%, women’s fashion 18.5% and jewellery 20%. Rates can differ further down the category tree and exclude VAT, so confirm your exact category in Seller Center.
Is there a fee to register as a Daraz seller?
Daraz’s own “Sell on Daraz” page says there is no listing fee. Daraz earns through the commission and other fees deducted from each order.
How much tax is deducted on Daraz sales?
1% of the gross amount when the buyer pays online and 2% on cash on delivery, under section 153(2A) of the Income Tax Ordinance. For most sellers this is a final tax on that income under section 6A.
Do I need an NTN to sell on Daraz?
Yes. FBR Circular No. 01 of 2025-26 says every e-commerce seller must be registered for income tax, and online marketplaces and couriers may not serve unregistered sellers. See how to become a filer.
Can I claim the e-commerce tax back?
The Finance Act 2026 made it adjustable against your normal tax liability if your turnover in a tax year is above Rs 200 million. If your turnover is Rs 200 million or less, you can choose the normal tax regime when you file your return, from tax year 2027.
Why is my Daraz payout lower than the calculator shows?
Usually because of costs the calculator does not know: shipping or programme fees, sales tax on Daraz’s fees, penalties, returns, vouchers you funded or ads. Your Seller Center statement shows each line. Enter the extra amounts in the calculator’s “shipping or other fees” and “sales tax” boxes.
